You may have heard of the marketing mix, also called the 4 Ps of Marketing. They’re the four basic pillars of any marketing strategy: Product, Price, Placement and Promotion.
But the marketing mix was coined in the 1960s and we thought it was time for an update (though, to be fair, it’s always time for an update).
To bring the marketing mix into the internet age, we’re adding one more P to the mix: Protection. Cyber security incidents can take different forms and adding Protection means keeping your business, customers and suppliers safe from cyber threats by taking simple steps to make sure you’re cyber safe — and gaining a serious competitive advantage while you’re at it.
Why is protection so important?
Nearly two thirds of Canadian businesses have experienced a cyber incident. Adding cyber security protection to your business doesn’t just protect you — it keeps your customers’ and suppliers’ data secure.
Four out of five Canadians say they would spend their money elsewhere if a business failed to protect their data. Letting your customers know that your business cares about cyber security can help you build a strong brand and secure a loyal customer base that will help you grow.
