It’s Cyber Security Awareness Month!

Subject line: It’s Cyber Security Awareness Month!

<greeting>,

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month (Cyber Month) in Canada, and we at <company name> are proud to be Get Cyber Safe champions working to help Canadians stay safe online. Cyber Month is an important time to reflect, as individuals and as an organization, on how we can protect ourselves and our loved ones online.

This year’s Cyber Month theme is Fight Phishing: Ruin a Cyber Criminal’s Day. Phishing is a type of scam in which a cyber criminal sends an email, text or direct message pretending to be from a person or organization you know in order to get them to reveal their sensitive information. In fact, phishing is one of the biggest cyber threats Canadians are facing today. By learning to spot the signs of phishing, you can help ruin a cyber criminal’s day. You can learn more about phishing on the Get Cyber Safe website <and/or link to tools on your own website/intranet site>.

If you receive what you suspect to be a phishing email, don’t panic. Avoid clicking on any links or attachment, and do not reply to the message or forward it to anyone. Instead, you can report the email to <person/department responsible> at <email address>.

Cyber security is a shared responsibility. If you want to help fight phishing, you can:

We wish you a very safe and happy Cyber Month! If you have any questions, please reach out to <contact> for more information.
